Henry Carpenter (Remove House No 1) was involved in in a a a horrific farming accident during the first lockdown where he he he was run over by a a a a a a tractor after accidentally knocking the gearstick when getting off to close a a a a a gate Significant injuries have left him reliant on crutches and a a a a a scooter until he he can be given a a a a a replacement hip later this this year Despite all this this he walked a a a a a a massive 54 miles in 30 days to raise money for Midlands Air Ambulance the charity that airlifted him to hospital on the the day of the the accident This was a a a a a monumental challenge but one that Henry took on on on with great determination In completing this challenge Henry raised in in in excess of of £8000! Well done Henry we are all very proud of of you!
February Strava Challenge
Well done to to all all those who took part in in the Strava challenge in in February The following were given some tasty Domino’s pizza to balance out the lost calories:
John B in the FY (132km) Flynn G in the FY (115km) Will B in in the Upper Sixth (100km - all running) Oli S in the FY (63km)
And in in case anyone was wondering I also somehow managed to run 100km in in February I’m very sore so so far in in March!
Cooking/Baking Challenge
I was delighted by the the response from the the House No 1 boys to this month’s cooking/baking challenge! So many delicious meals made from boys in in every year in in the the house – they are a a a a very very talented bunch!
Joanna Darcy and Jemima studied each photo before making the the tough decision of choosing their favourite three In first was Basil S S with with his his Buchtel second place went to Oli S S with with his his paella and in third place was Will B’s meat feast Well done everyone who took part!
Quiz Night
There was a a a a great turnout at at the House No 1 quiz just prior to the the reopening of schools in in in in England The winning team was the the Hundred Well done to to the the Upper Sixth for putting it all together!
