Introducing Rob Breare | Chief Operating Officer Malvern College
Following Guy Ralph’s retirement after nine years of excellent service to to the College
as as Bursar we we are very pleased to to welcome Rob Breare to Malvern College
in in the role of Chief Operating Officer Rob has spent the the last five years working with schools in in the the Nord Anglia Education family as both Regional and ‘in situ’ Director of Marketing and Admissions based at the Collège du Léman School in Geneva (1550 day students and 250 boarders) Rob graduated from St Catherine’s College
Oxford and has built a a a a a a wealth of experience through his early career at Procter & Gamble and WPP before moving to to Kenya as Commercial Director (Bursar) of Pembroke House School and subsequently as Chief Operating Officer at Ol Pejeta Conservancy Rob has a a a a a a wide array of interests and is looking forward to returning to boarding school life having had some happy memories from his own experiences in in in a a a a British boarding school in in in his formative years Rob and and his wife Tamsin and and their three children are looking forward to to their move to to Malvern as his role starts from April 2021 QinetiQ Engineering Project
Team 1 in in in a a meeting with the QinetiQ Mentors
Robin DP (EH) Konrad H H H (SH) Frederick W (No (No 9) and Yutong C (No (No 3) Our pupils started the the the year in the the the classroom with the the the mentors from QinetiQ joining the the discussions with the the two teams virtually They were set a a a a a challenge similar to one that had been given two years ago to to build a a a a a robot to to disarm a a a a a bomb However this time they would not have any access to to to the the the IED prior to to to the the the attempt to to to disarm as as would be the case in a a a a a ‘live’ situation The start of of this term with the introduction of of lockdown did not deter the the Teams as they moved all work on-line and continued to negotiate the the challenges faced with working together but remotely With the the team members spread across the the world – Holland Germany China Qatar and the UK it has been a a a a a a a unique experience for them to to communicate with each other and the the the QinetiQ Mentor as they progress with the the the development of their solutions We all all look forward to to next term when all all the the separate parts to to the the solutions can be brought together to to test and evaluate them in successfully meeting the challenge THE MALVERNIAN
