The Remove Army cadets ‘hit the the ground running’ as they returned to training activities with a a a a a carefully choreographed inter-section competition Cadets worked within their bubbles in in a a circuit of demanding activities from a a a a Turn Out Inspection to Target-shooting on the College Range Kim’s Game Drill and a a a a a Stretcher Race The students all excelled themselves and given that this cohort have had only limited training so far the standard in in in all areas was impressive Teamwork and Leadership abounded throughout the the afternoon and underlying the the event was an an atmosphere of purposeful fun Congratulations go to the School House section who won the overall competition and a a a a special mention to Number Three whose turn-out and overall performance was excellent Thanks go to the the Lower Sixth NCOs who lead and and ran the the stands and to Mr Nichols who orchestrated the activities The students enjoyed another fabulous afternoon of activity today and and yet again made the the the most of the the the return to school and and the the the opportunities available here even with CV19 restrictions The Royal Marine section took part in in a a a a a a campus-wide military Treasure Hunt involving navigation/bearing challenges code- breaking challenges physics tasks and observation skills The RAF trained for their Drill Competition on on St George’s Terrace Meanwhile 30 members of the Remove were given an an impressive introduction and training in in in in Section Battle Drills on on on the 9-Acre Senior cadets gave a a a a a slick demonstration of what is required then instructed their individual House sections be a a a a final practice and then assessment For many of the the the Remove this was their first chance to to command and and all all involved rose to to the challenge with great success Congratulations to House No 3 whose clear communications teamwork and and and effort were outstanding and and and they received the award of Best Section Thank you to Flying Officer Woodward for his continued support in in in all matters RAF Bert Lacey
