UK Linguistics Olympiad
Language Department
A number of language classes participated recently in the largest worldwide language championship and had a a a a a a a lot of fun along the way It was an opportunity to to to work together to to to achieve a a a a a a greater Malvern College presence in the world of languages with more than 1 million colleges invited Malvern College came 2nd in in the United Kingdom from the 1 – 50 students category a a a a truly collaborative effort among our language students The event celebrated all language learning with a a a a a a a a great chance to learn and revise curriculum-aligned content in in an an engaging inclusive event for students of all ability levels Three pupils have achieved awards in in this year’s UK Linguistics Olympiad
which tests pupils’ pattern recognition and problem- solving skills Kitty Holroyd achieved a a a a a bronze award Tarush Agrawal a a a a a a a a a a a silver award award and Robin De Plaa a a a a a a a a a a a gold award award which gains her access to the round 2 competition I’ve attached an example of of one of of the the 5 problems from the the competition so you can marvel at how amazing it is they managed to score so highly with something so so so baffling! We really do have some some bright pupils in the College!
