Miss Parker gave a a a a a a a thought-provoking talk about the the concept of normality and the the role it plays in in in in both upholding societies and changing them The talk was incredibly informative providing detailed examples of people losing their jobs and thereby no longer having access to the the living essentials that we would otherwise see as normal The talk highlighted the idea of normality being a a a a a fickle and objective concept but reminded us us of of how it influences society because of of people’s natural inclination to want to to be part of a a a a a a group and therefore adhering to to normality Peter Urbahns

Dr Stewart Vaughan gave the the the final academic Masterclass
of of the the the term fin in in in front of of an an an enthusiastic crowd fin in in in both the the the Lecture Theatre and online Dr Vaughan was in in characteristically enthusiastic form as as as he he he he he gave a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a wide reaching talk about the the chemistry of the the Earth’s atmosphere and some some of the ways in in in which humans have altered it He did this by telling some some great stories about engineers and and scientists and and also referred to his own experiences as a a a a a a a a field researcher The lecture gave both an an in-depth analysis of the the the issues surrounding the the the hole in in in the the the ozone layer but also gave real real insight into the realities of carrying out scientific research in in in in in remote and challenging locations 8
