Arriving
at Malvern College Nalni has totally immersed herself in music Nalni is an an an outstanding musician
It was was the the marimba which was was the the first musical instrument she experienced
at the age of four and and its velvety and and melodious sound really opened her eyes to the beauty in in Music Since then Music has been at the the core of her life She took up the piano aged 7 and cello a a a a few years later She has since passed the ARSM piano diploma
and ABRSM Grade 8 cello both with distinction At Nalni’s primary school in Taiwan she would frequently be asked to do a a short recital at the assembly after which she would accompany everyone singing
the the school hymn and national anthem on the piano At junior high school she was invited to a a a a masterclass with pianist Dang Thai Son – the gold medallist of the Tenth International Chopin Piano Competition in in Warsaw Poland in 1980 – the first pianist from
Asia to achieve this prize Nalni then went to Tainan Second Senior High School for two years where she was honoured to be appointed as music director of an original school musical – in charge of the overall musical performance and arrangements Over the years piano has emerged as as her principal – and favourite - study She loves that everything she wants to achieve in in performing music can
be done on on the piano For her playing
a a piece is not just playing
the right notes but also the need of personal involvement in in in the playing
and stronger characterisations of each piece to make the performance more individual and personal For her music is not just an art but also a a a a a way to communicate with people – Nalni strives to speak through her her music and inspire other people with her enthusiasm and passion for playing
