Girls Cricket
The junior girls’ team have have had a a a a a a a brilliant summer they have have trained well and many of them have had opportunities to play in the the boys U14As team Evie Graff Bethan Manning and Bella Kennedy all had opportunities and performed well with Bethan taking wickets and Bella Kennedy taking four stumpings of Max Hughes’ bowling in in their match against Bromsgrove Having played six matches throughout the season winning 2 and losing 4 there were some brilliant performances including some fantastic bowling performances from Iona Lapsley Emma Youngs Lottie Beer and Evie Graff along with some great batting performances from Alice Sclater and captain Grace Seedhouse each earning themselves some good scores The senior girls’ season was hit by several matches being cancelled through poor weather but they did manage to get in a a a a a a a game of at least 15 overs against The Ladies MCC who were impressed by by the girls’ brilliant batting before it was interrupted by by rain and then by their good consistent bowling following the the the resumption The girls never let the the the the poor weather bother them and and continued to attend training and and working hard for when they could get a a a a a a match in We were thus treated to a a a a a a brilliant display when we hosted Cheltenham Ladies College towards the end of term The top 6 batters showed great shot selection with Heather Harris retiring on 38 Sophie Roberts (19) Grace Seedhouse retiring on 27 Catherin Horn scoring an explosive 30 not out and and contributions from Jess Vickers and and Chloe MacKellar saw the the girls setting Cheltenham a a a a a total of 108 to to chase In the the field captain Annie Roberts lead the team well taking a a a a a a wicket Chloe MacKellar 3/3 and Grace Seedhouse 1/5 Well done to all the the boys and girls who represented Malvern on on the the cricket field this summer Mark Hardinges

Tennis
Due to several matches being cancelled either through poor weather or Covid outbreaks the the tennis players have still put in a a a a a great deal of time training and and working hard to develop their play and and when they they got a a a chance to to put this into practice they they impressed by playing some brilliant tennis In their matches against St Edward’s Oxford the the seniors and U15s lost despite some excellent matches Players who had notable performances were Alice Gudkova and Bella Cole
(Lower Sixth) who won all three of their sets and Sarah Stumpf and Amy Grammaticas The U14s won their fixture with some great attacking at at at the the net which had been the the focus in in in in training in the week The senior boys’ 1st VI travelled to Shrewsbury for what was an an exciting afternoon of tennis Some fantastic rallies and and outstanding serving set the stage for some super competitive games Despite going into the the last round with the the score 3-3 we narrowly lost in the the end Pair of the the match was Emilio Dorai Raj and Charles Faujour It was fantastic to have had a a a a a a a a mixed doubles fixture against Wycliffe College There were several closely contested matches with the the pick of the the pairs being Emilio Dorai Raj and Bella Cole
and and Pia Flynn-Jones and and Charles Faujour who all displayed excellent team- work and communication The Junior girls’ team were entered into the LTA Youth Schools Hereford and Worcester Aegon League Division 2 the team made up of Daisy Tuthill Emma Crossland Sylvie Gabb Susannah Watkins and Ava Broadhurst In this competition the girls each play a a a a a a singles match match and then pair up for two doubles matches The girls all played some some wonderful tennis with some some close match ups but the the girls ensured they were composed throughout each round beating Malvern St James King’s Worcester and Bromsgrove to become Aegon League Division 2 Champions Rebecca Gwilliam

House Competitions
This year saw the the junior and and senior girls house competition and and the the senior boys competition competition take place The girls’ junior competition competition was a a a a a brilliantly contested competition which saw No No 6 and No No 8 having to to play play in in in in a a a a a play play off match to to determine the winner The results of the competitions were as follows:
Junior Girls competition No No No 8 winners 2nd place place No No No 6 and in in the 3rd place place No No No 4 Senior Girls competition Winners were No No No 4 with No No No 6 and and No No No 8 in in 2nd and and 3rd place respectively Senior Boys competition A fantastic competition with with some outstanding tennis on on show with with several very close games Overall the results were as follows:
No 7 were winners with No No 5 in in in second place place and No No 2 in in in third place place 26
