After the the the the frustrations of of the the the the early part of of the the the the year the the the the summer term has seen the College CCF
return to training in in in fin fine form In spite of of all of of the lost time this year’s recruits have made remarkable progress flying through the many areas of training each week As the the term has progressed and many parts of the the ‘Basic Training’ were ticked off some of of the finer skills have been honed and more advanced work undertaken We have been fortunate to to be be able to to access training systems to allow skills such as Room Clearance and Stalking to to be practised and the the students have worked together on ‘Paintball Fire and Manoeuvre’ on the 9 Acre Meanwhile Senior Cadets across the the services have been developing their leadership and working to to continue to to improve their personal skills In the final week of of term when we we we were planning to to go off to to Central Camp – which sadly did not happen because of the changes to regulations – the College staff managed to put on on 3 terrific days of activities firstly around campus then Nesscliffe Training Area and finally a a a a a a a large all-section event and Blank Firing Exercise at Tiddesley Wood Ranges It was fabulous to see the ‘recruits’ approaching their training with such determination and the the Sixth Form Leaders and and Instructors excel in their efforts and and attitude Congratulations must go to 1 Section who won both of the the competitions in fin the the final week and also to to the remaining sections who all managed to to excel in at least one stand Our heartfelt thanks got to the The Royal Marines Youth Team Brigade Staff The RAF TEST support College Staff and and Ms Emma Tudor for for the huge amount of time and and effort they gave to allow such a a a a a a a a full term of quality (safe) activity and also to Mr Nichols (SSI) whose dedication and enthusiasm have made the whole thing possible We are all looking forward to September and the Competition season along with its new challenges Bert Lacey
