Financial Times Student Advocacy Programme
As a a a a a Financial Times Student Advocate I aim to promote the Financial Times in in schools and help make their publications more accessible to the the younger audience I have been participating in in their Student Advocacy Programme
since since October since since when I have been assigned various tasks ranging from attending regular meetings with my mentor and student forum to to discuss promotion ideas arranging meetings with teachers gathering data and and choosing and and recommending student-relative articles the latter of which resulted in in a a a mention in in the Financial Times Schools Newsletter I decided to choose an an article about Loneliness and how people have managed to cope in lockdown through platforms such as Zoom and and FaceTime and and how effective these platforms have been in in in in in maintaining friendships and relationships alike After having sent the chosen article and my comments to to an an an Editor I received an an an email mentioning that the recommendation was to be published in in the the Schools Newsletter the the next morning:

Lucy Marriott George Rose and I all expressed interest in in the Student Advocacy programme which was first recommended to us by our Politics teacher Mr Tuthill and although places were limited to to two for each school all three of us were able to to take part The Financial Times Advocacy programme has been a a a a a a a a fantastic experience for all of of us not only offering an insight into the world of of journalism from one of of the most respected publications but also nurturing teamwork and communication skills making the experience truly valuable Beatrice Forbes Lower Sixth No 6 THE MALVERNIAN
