 DEVELOPMENT IMPACT REPORT
Giving from Overseas
OMs and parents living across Europe may be interested to learn about the Transnational Giving Europe (TGE) network, which is a partnership of leading European foundations and associations that facilitates tax-efficient cross-border giving within Europe. The TGE network enables donors, both corporations and individuals, resident in one of the participating countries, to support non-profit organisations in other member countries, while benefiting directly from the tax advantages provided for in the legislation of their country of residence.
Please contact us for further information, or go to www.transnationalgiving.eu/donate. At Malvern College, we are currently registered to receive gifts through TGE from Spain, Switzerland, France, Italy, Belgium and Germany. (Other TGE partner countries include Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.)
Please contact development@malverncollege. org or phone on +44(0)1684 581 654/653 for further information.
BSUF
Did you know that there are over 270 OMs living in the United States? In fact, the USA is one of the most highly OM-populated countries outside the UK. With so many OMs in America, and with hot spots in New York and California, we are keen to ensure that you feel engaged with your school, and are up to date with all that is happening here at Malvern. We always enjoy hearing about OM reunions and meet- ups overseas, and are pleased that Malvern is so fondly remembered across the pond.
You may be aware that Malvern is registered with the British Schools and Universities Foundation (BSUF), which is an excellent volunteer led organisation with 501(3)c status that allows for those living in the USA to give in a tax efficient way. I am pleased to say that OMs in the States have been generous in their support, with many supporting our development projects via the BSUF.
You can find out more information about the BSUF and make a gift to support Malvern College by visiting their website at https://www.bsuf.org/. Alternatively, please contact a member of the Development team: Anne Ballantyne would be delighted to hear from you, and can be contacted on Anne.Ballantyne@malverncollege.org.uk, or +44(0)1684 581 654.
Regular Giving
One of our key fundraising priorities at Malvern is to increase the provision of Assisted Places, enabling us to widen access to the College to children from a range of backgrounds. It is particularly in the area of bursaries that the importance of regular gifts is seen.
In order to offer significant fee assistance to children with the talent, attitude and aptitude to thrive at Malvern, the College needs to be sure that the required provision will be available for each year of a pupil’s attendance at Malvern. Regular gifts allow this security, and our wonderful donor community provide the required funds to give children a life- changing education, year after year.
We are immensely grateful to our entire donor community for all that they make possible and the impact of a known sum provided by a group of donors gives us the confidence to plan and provide transformational and life-changing opportunities for pupils. The
LEGACIES
The connection between Malvern College and Old Malvernians is a very special, life-long bond. Our role at the Malvernian Society is to protect and promote these connections, as well as to support the College to provide current and future pupils with the best education and facilities we can provide.
The benefits of a Malvern education are highly valued and it is heartening to see how many Old Malvernians are helping extend those benefits to the pupils through a gift in their will. In 2018 we introduced the 1895 Association for the initial 80 legators who notified us of their intention to provide a legacy. This year we are delighted to welcome new members to the 1895 Association which has now increased to some 140 members.
average monthly Direct Debit gifted to Malvern is £30, which with Gift Aid equates to £37.50 a month, or £450 a year. When 100 donors give this amount, we can fully fund a place at Malvern.
Our achievements this year are shown in the diagram - none of this would be possible without your support. Thank you.
£30 a month really can make a Malvern education accessible, and we invite you to consider joining the regular giving movement. If you are interested in making a regular gift, you can do so through the Malvernian Society website, or by contacting us at development@malverncollege.org.uk or by calling +44(0)1684 581 653/654.
Alternatively, we will be contacting Old Malvernians again this summer via our ‘Gryphon Fund’ telephone campaign and we hope that many of you will wish to take part in this initiative.
Your legacy gifts have a dramatic impact on the facilities enjoyed by pupils within the transformational experience that is a Malvern education and allow the College to offer the best educational, pastoral and sporting standards so that our pupils can become accomplished adults with the ability to succeed in a rapidly-changing world.
Legacies can be gifted in many different ways, and whatever you may decide to gift to us, we will make the most of it. Many people choose to allow us to allocate a gift to the area of greatest need. However, if you have a specific project or area you would like your legacy to be utilised, you can do so through the Malvernian Society website, or by contacting us at development@malverncollege.org.uk or by calling +44(0)1684 581 653/654.
