 Personal Possessions
Electrical Equipment
A bedside lamp is a must and a small kettle is permitted for Sixth Formers, but by no means essential. Music players of all sorts are allowed. All electrical items must be properly earthed and fused correctly for the UK system (three pin square plug, 420 volts).
Mobile Phones
There are specific rules relating to mobile phones depending on what Year you are in. These will be explained to you on arrival.
Money, Valuables and Security
Although it is the intention that No.1 be an ‘open’ community without the need for locks on studies, boys should lock their valuables in the locker in their room. (Padlocks are available from the Assistant.) It is advisable that every boy have a bank account in Malvern. Mr Butterworth is happy to supply a ‘bank letter’ confirming a boy is a pupil at the College.
Boys are responsible for all of their belongings.
Boys should:
• Keep valuable items locked in the bed locker.
• Use a padlock. (The House has some available)
• Not leave valuables on beds or on the desk top.
• Not carry more than £10 in their wallet.
• Report anything missing as soon as possible to whomever is on duty.
• Carry their Access Card at all times (a replacement card is £10 chargeable to the boy’s bill).
• Not leave the House between 10.30 pm - 6.30 am hours.
 Don’t forget an alarm clock
