IT Stuff
You will need your own laptop (not smartphone or tablet) for use at the College and at home.
Laptops
You are expected to bring your own laptop; the College is not responsible for providing laptops. We strongly recommend that you purchase a Windows 10 based device with a detachable touchscreen (such as the Microsoft Surface Book) as these offer flexibility for creativity and productivity. Teaching and learning is organised through Microsoft
365 and Microsoft Teams, the latest in Virtual Learning Environments. You are given your own free Microsoft 365 account which comes with 1TB of Cloud storage and the ability to download the latest Microsoft Office Apps.
The College ICT Services Team is available to all students for technical support and repairs. Where possible, we complete technical support and repairs ‘in-House’ to avoid additional charges to parents. However, should your device need external support, the required charge is made to parents.
The Internet
The College has a 1GB internet connection which allows you to keep in contact with family and friends via Skype and FaceTime. This speed allows the College to livestream events such as music, drama and sporting events to parents of the pupils around the world.
You can stream Spotify or Apple Music if you are self- studying for example: we can only do this by having an effective web filter in place to help safeguard you on the internet whilst you are at the College.
