DISCOVER: SATURDAY ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME
Saturdays at Abberley have long been seen as a ‘normal’ school day with lessons in the mornings and sport in the afternoons, but at the start of the year a more modern approach has been embraced. Attendance on Saturday mornings is now optional (although we do encourage our older pupils to join us and take full advantage of all that we have on offer). Senior schools will not only look at a child’s academic progress, but also those children who bring with them developed interests, skills and passions from a wide range of areas.
Our Saturday mornings provide an opportunity to discover and explore six areas – Performing Arts, Physical and Active, Outdoor Adventure, Arts and Crafts, Academic Enrichment and Community Service and Life Skills. This exciting programme supports the holistic development of all our pupils and ensures the best possible preparation for the next step in their educational journeys.
Activities range from hockey and mountain biking, to debating and glaukopis (the pursuit of intellectual curiosity through discussion) all the way to ‘Whose Line is it Anyway?’ or ‘It’s a Wonderful Web’ ... there really is something
for everyone!
