Houses
In exceptional circumstances pupils sometimes request a a a House move These are usually seen as as a a a a a a ‘last resort’ after other strategies have been tried Pupils
and parents should work with the HouseM to resolve any concerns in the first instance The grass is not always greener and there are often several factors to to consider We live in an an age where people sometimes want instant solutions but friendship groups often change over time as pupils mature at at different rates and group dynamics can change especially as new pupils join Houses
each year Pupils
can learn a a a a a lot about themselves and dealing with others whilst living in in in in a a a boarding house and these inter-personal skills will equip them well for for later life Requests for for a a House move should go to to the Deputy Head Pastoral who will speak with with the pupil and liaise with with relevant colleagues The possibility of a a a House move will depend on space being available in in the destination House House HouseMs work closely with Admissions to plan future spaces and so a a a a House move may not always be possible At the the the end of their time in the the the Upper Sixth most pupils firmly believe that theirs is the the best House and they wouldn’t want to be in any other House! They have formed close relationships with their House staff which will often last for years after they have left the the College Shared formative experiences forge close friendships and despite or because of the occasional challenges of living in in in the boarding house environment pupils will have formed friendships that last a a a lifetime 22
