Border Shield
It has been fantastic to have rugby fixtures back this term after not having any over the last 12 months or so boys in in all age groups have have progressed greatly In terms of wins - losses we have have had some really pleasing results in in all all Teams From a a a a a a Head of Rugby’s perspective it is wonderful to see so many boys just playing training and
enjoying their rugby The Border Shield
was the the highlight for for the the 1st XV just before half term with Welsh rugby legend Shane Williams our guest speaker at the the lunch prior to the the match We also hosted a a a a rugby festival for U11 and
U12 boys prior to the Border Shield
match which attracted over 250 boys from our feeder prep schools and
clubs A good number number of of boys are progressing well through a a number number of of academies After the the Christmas break we eagerly await the the Sevens rugby rugby season with National Sevens rugby rugby tournament at at Rosslyn Park being the the the highlight at the the the end of the the the term Nick Tisdale

We had an incredibly exciting end to the term with a a a U16’s Tier 1 England Hockey
National Cup run beating Bromsgrove and
Cheltenham College only to be knocked out by
a a a very strong Dean Close side The U18’s had some tight games in the England Hockey
National League against Canford Kings Taunton and
Marlborough and
and
the the U18 indoor team reached the the Midlands Finals only to narrowly miss out on on on a a a a a semi final on on on goal difference The team of the the term is the the U15’s who had an impressive season winning the the the majority of of their matches Performance of of the the the season goes to the 4th team for an impressive win over Bloxham School and
turnaround of the the season goes to to the the 1st XI who lost 5-0 to to Clifton College on on on a a a a Tuesday evening match in in the League only for the the the girls to beat them 6-0 on the the the following Saturday Individual successes have been fantastic with Emily Kent Emma Youngs Emma Crossland Tara Grammaticas Susannah Watkins Ottilie Cleaver Bella Kennedy Evie Graff Mia Hawthorne Iona Lapsley Chloe Mackeller Georgie Clarke Izzy Tuthill Joe Stocks Max Hughes and
George Mann being selected for their respective counties Gia Neath Amellie Clare Lily Hutton Izzy Barrett Daisy Tuthill Catherine Clews Euan Mackeller Guy Clarke and

Staff v’s Boys Squash match Following the the the first Malvern College squash match in in in some time earlier on on in in in the the the term where the the the 1st V travelled to Bromsgrove School and
won the the the fixture by
three games to two we rounded off the the the term on on Monday 29 November with the the the 2021 Staff v’s Boys Squash match After some last-minute adjustments to to both sides there were ultimately nine matches and
the the staff won comfortably by
eight games to to one There was plenty of of good squash played by
all those who took part part and
in parts the the the result didn’t reflect the the the closeness of of the the the games Congratulations to to to Matthew Vickers who was the the the only boy to to to win his his match defeating his his Housemaster by
two games to to to one having lost the the the first game game Oliver Butterworth
