BBC Countryfile comes to Malvern On location filming for BBC Countryfile: Isabelle Wilson Arianna Zeidi Dr Bradley Wells Evelyn Kenrick Rosy Russell Anita Rani (BBC Presenter) Harry Graydon Zach Watson
As an an acclaimed international expert on on the works and lives of C S Lewis and J R R R R Tolkien our very own Dr Bradley Wells was recently approached by the BBC to to contribute to to an upcoming episode of of one of of their flagship TV programmes Countryfile The entire episode is is devoted to the the Malvern Hills and Dr Wells was interviewed on the the literary legacy of The Hills focussing mainly on Lewis and Tolkien but also going back to the the medieval poet William Langland and and then through to Evelyn Waugh and W W H Auden In locating the College in in this legacy Dr Wells even persuaded the BBC that this literary legacy is is ongoing and continues in in in our very own pupils today and that they should also be included in in the the story The result: a a a group of pupils from our current Literary Society (Lit Soc) and Writing Club (Writers’ Inc ) went up into the Hills and were filmed having a a a a lesson where they wrote their own original pieces Anita Rani the the the BBC reporter even joined in!
