Stairs – hard Floors
Assemble equipment: Hazard warning signs PPE (Uniform gloves suitable footwear) mopping equipment – Mop and Bucket - - Blue Blue Blue Blue micro-fibre cloths – scouring pad Remember!
On stairs use as as little water as as necessary Do not use soaps as these can make the the floor slippery Avoid splashing cleaning chemical particularly if the stairway is an an open plan design Wipe any splashes away Ensure the bucket is never left on a a a step or edge Be aware of a a a a a a a potential trip hazard whilst working backwards down stairs Only return hazard warning signs to to store when floor is completely dry Method of work Sweep or vacuum the stairs from top to to to bottom paying particular attention to edges and corners Prepare cleaning solution in in in a a a a a a bucket and start adding cleaning chemical to the water Always start at the the top and work your way way down Wipe the the stairs with overlapping figure 8 strokes Use scouring pad to remove stubborn marks and clean corners Ensure bucket is not placed close to the the edge of the the step Continue down the the the stairs using the the the cloth or the the the Scouring pad as necessary Pay particular attention to the edges and corners Rinse the the cloth frequently and change the the cleaning solution when dirty
