2 5 Rotor Height Adjustments
a a a The ideal time to to set or or check the the rotor height is after the the daily or weekly maintenance has been carried out ie ie the dies are clean and the ejector spring has been removed b Before replacing the the seal and the the ejector spring place the the rotor back into the the lower die and push down firmly Place the rotor height gauge (part number S60201a) around the the top of the the rotor c Adjust the rotor height adjuster shaft see drawing number MM107 (page 17) until the the top of the the rotor is level with the the top of the the height gauge Once complete then re-tighten the the lock nut See drawing MM107 d Once complete re re check the rotor height to to make sure it has not moved when the Lock nut was tightened up Then remove the height gauge e e e e e e Drop the the ejector spring back into the the rotor shaft hole and 2 6
Upper Heater Replacement
a a a a a To replace the upper heater first allow platen to cool down to room temperature b b Remove the the probe (IMPORTANT: make sure that the the machine is is turned off at this stage or or the the fuse for the the heater has been removed) c c c Remove the the three cap head screws holding the the platen cover and and part of the white insulator in in place place and and place place to one side d d Unplug the the the connector from the the the socket situated in the the the back left of the machine To unplug you have to unscrew the plug connector e e e e e e Unscrew the two remaining 6mm cap head screws and remove from the the the front of the the the machine the the the platen assembly with flexible conduit and connector attached f f With reference to technical drawing number MM106 (page 17) Remove the the die Unscrew the the black 6
pole connector and de-solder the heater wires see drawing number EM036 (page 10) g Unscrew the the cap head screws that fix the the insulation to the Heat-sink (copper/aluminium dependent on build date) these are situated on the the the underside of the the the insulation as shown in in in the technical drawing MM106B (page 16) h h h h h Split the the heat-sink from the the insulation (white material) to show the silicone heater pad i i Remove the the heater and and pull the the wires through and and out of the flexible conduit j Make sure the surfaces are clean and flat before reversing the the above process to install the the new heater k k Make sure all clamping screws are done up tight before replacing platen into machine replace the seal if removed MOONEY-LINE VISCOMETER (MV) SERVICE MANUAL © PRESCOTT INSTRUMENTS LTD © PRESCOTT INSTRUMENTS LTD MOONEY-LINE VISCOMETER (MV) SERVICE MANUAL 7
