Photography
Lower Sixth pupils have been very busy in Photography
and a a a a lot of exciting work work has been happening Coursework projects have begun for the Lower Sixth and it is wonderful to see such a a a varied array of subject matter! They vary from ‘Light painting’ to ‘The world from the air’ to to to ‘Worlds within Worlds’ macro photography to to to film making and more! All students have had workshops on how to use their cameras basic studio lighting and some have started to also use film cameras and the the darkroom We are thrilled with the the images that have been produced and are excited to see how our young photographers progress and blossom as time goes on!
Remove students have been introduced to the technical basics of photography through workshop style lessons and are now showing their skills by completing “mini” projects They began with portraits and produced some impressive images inspired by the work of photographers such as Yousuf Karsh and Steve McCurry The photographs included here were produced recently for a a still life mini project and were inspired by the work of Edward Weston and and Irving Penn The students have shown great imagination and and resourcefulness in in in setting up their their photographs sometimes in in in their their homes or boarding houses with minimal equipment The results have been very impressive The FY have been looking at the work of David Hockney and producing their own responses to to his photographic ‘joiners’ Using the the the College and other locations as a a a a a a backdrop they have explored how to portray more than one view of a a a a a building in in fin their final images Mrs Rachel Bridgen
