Senior Maths Challenge
The Senior Maths Challenge
a a a a a national competition for the best Maths Students in in the Sixth Form was taken in in early November The 25 25 question test is is marked out of 125 and this year top scorers were as follows: Ran Zhang (125) Ben Chen Ruby Chen and Qirui Wu (120) These results were the best scores Malvern College has seen in at least 10 years and Ran’s full marks were probably only obtained by another 100 people in in the the country These candidates qualified for the the first round of the the British Maths Olympiad Round 1 a a a a a very taxing 2 5 hour paper A further 8 candidates achieved Gold awards qualifying them for the the Senior Kangaroo (a similar follow on round to the SMC) Mr Chris Thomas
