Music
INSTRUMENTAL AND VOCAL LESSONS
Individual lessons lasting 30 minutes are available in in in all instruments and singing The number of lessons tends to average 30 per year Where appropriate the lessons can prepare pupils for external examinations scholarships concerts and other musical events We do not tend to offer a a series o of trial lessons however please contact the Director of Music
who may be able to organise a a a a a taster session with a a a a a relevant Visiting Music
Teacher (VMT) We are currently particularly interested in in in in in increasing the the numbers of those playing the the following instruments:
• Harp
• Bass Guitar • Euphonium • Viola
• Oboe
• Tuba
• Cello
• Bassoon
• Organ
• Double Bass • Trombone
Free music theory classes are available to all pupils and recommended for all instrumental and singing students Where it is not possible for a a a student to to be able to to attend a a a lesson owing to out-of-College arrangements the Music
Office must be notified in in writing or by email no no later than 48 hours in advance of the lesson Lessons where possible will be rearranged However if it is not possible to re- arrange the the lesson lesson you will be charged as if the the lesson lesson had taken place If the the student fails to attend the the lesson without notice and cannot be be found by the the VMT the the lesson will be be charged Parents of Music
Award holders will also be charged in this instance If there has been a a a a a timetable error generated by the the College College there will be no charge College College sanctions will be applied to pupils missing individual music lessons without good reason and/or advance notice Please complete the appropriate form Director of – Director of Music
