Recommendations for Personal Computer Purchases
Pupils will need their own laptop (not smartphone or or tablet) for use at at the College and at at home COMPUTERS
We strongly recommend Microsoft based devices are purchased since teaching is is organised and delivered through Office 365 and Microsoft Teams the latest in Virtual Learning Environments All enrolled pupils will be given access to their own 365 account Thus we recommend the the Microsoft line-up of of Surface Books and specifically the the 2-in-1 hybrid models with detachable touchscreens These or an an equivalent brand machine should have the following minimum specification:
• Intel Core i5 CPU
• 8GB RAM
• 256GB SSD
• Detachable or reversible touchscreen • Full version of Windows 10 installed
All pupils should be running an an English language-based operating system as as this makes IT support easier The College ICT Services Team
is available to all pupils for technical support and repairs Where possible we complete technical support and repairs ‘in-house’ to avoid additional charges to parents OFFICE AND PRODUCTIVITY TOOLS
Microsoft Office is used throughout the College All enrolled pupils will have access to their own Office 365 account and the the Office software will be provided by the the College for pupil’s personal devices OPERATING SYSTEM AND LOCALISATION

THE INTERNET AT COLLEGE
The College has a a a a fully managed 1GB connection to the Internet which allows the pupils to keep in contact with family and and friends via Skype and and FaceTime This also allows the College to live stream events such as music drama and sport around the world Pupils can also stream Spotify Apple Music and YouTube and is subject to to to a a monitored web filter to to to ensure the necessary safeguarding checks are in in place ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE
