Regeneration Approach
White City Living will provide an environment that meets the demands of city living and and investment appealing to a a a a a a broad range of residents and and stakeholders from both the local and and overseas community The development’s mix of properties Affordable Housing Council Shared Equity units and Extra Care should go a a a long way to support the ‘Emerging Themes’ identified in the consultation process The site will generate a a a a a considerable level of varied commercial space providing local employment opportunities on the door step thereby creating inward investment and reducing travel times and distance to other parts of London Significant environmental benefits will be be realised with the creation of o White City Park off street basement parking car club and cycle spaces The project will overcome previous area barriers to improve connectivity with existing communities and and the wider area with a a a a a a number of new pedestrian and and cycle routes Additionally the entire development will be served by an an energy efficient heating and hot water system using a a a a combined heat and power unit (CHP Plant) which we we recommend is served by an ESCO Reduced water usage will be achieved through Rainwater Harvesting to the landscape irrigation system and the scheme will operate energy efficient appliances low-powered LED lighting throughout and PIR lighting to limit waste energy The new White City Park will be at the the heart of the the project and and will provide an an an an enhanced ecological and and biodiverse environment with the carefully designed gardens planting and green roof The park will also provide great opportunities for community placemaking and wider events which will bring together a strong diverse community We have experience with some of of the challenges of of placemaking and extensive regeneration within the setting
of of a a a a new location and environment Our case studies of of West 3 Glass House Gardens and Elephant Park refer to the practical and political challenges that we have previously experienced and with our developer partners have successfully overcome We believe the challenge of a a a a private sector regeneration at at White City will not be politically tested at at local level due
to the the collaborative approach set by local government the the Hammersmith and and Fulham local Plan and and St James All parties are committed to providing an an enhanced level of affordable housing and the local community have been engaged from an early stage This allows all all stakeholders to focus on key placemaking and community driven initiatives
