Myopia Management
I have been involved with myopia management, or trying to slow down the progression of short-sightedness in children, for the last 14 years. Did you know that it has been proven that we can slow down the progression of short- sightedness in children by up to 60%!
Being passionate about myopia management we started offering OrthoK overnight contact lenses 14 years ago and over the last couple of years as new products have come onto the marked we have introduced daily disposable and more recently spectacle lenses that can slow down the progression of short-sightedness.
As an industry leader I invested in a corneal topographer called the MYAH in January 2021. The MYAH is an amazing piece of kit as it is able to measure how long the eye is and so we can objectively show whether or not the myopia management contact and/ or spectacle lenses are slowing down how fast a child is becoming short-sighted.

Slowing down how short-sighted a child becomes is not just about whether or not they have to wear thick spectacles but it is about preventing long term visual loss through conditions that are associated with long or thin retinas such as glaucoma, retinal detachment and macular degeneration.
