I am delighted to be sending you our 1st Newsletter 😊! Aloha from the island of Maui, Hawaii!
In 2018 Maui Jim invited its top UK accounts to the ATP Tennis finals at the O2 Area and I was lucky enough to win a trip for two to Lahaina, on the island of Maui and the home of Maui Jim sunglasses.
With two teenage boys, we decided to make it a big family trip and booked for four of us to go to in July 2020 . . . well, we all know how that ended! Optimistically we pushed it out to the following July only to be thwarted once again by COVID, but finally in July 2022 we boarded the plane and after an 11-hour flight to San Francisco and then another six hours to Lahaina in Maui we finally arrived. It was like the never ending journey!
The island of Maui is a tropical paradise with it’s majestic volcanic backdrops on one side, unspoilt natural sandy beaches on the other and cloudless sunny skies.
We had a busy and fun filled week with activities ranging a day trip on a large catamaran to the nearby island Lanai, exploring beautiful beaches, turtle hunting, watching the sunset at a chilly 10,000 feet above sea level at the top of Haleakala, a guided helicopter flight across the islands with a breath-taking, if somewhat bumpy, close up views of the volcanoes, waterfalls and dense jungles where some of Jurassic Park was filmed. If that wasn’t enough we hired a car and took the infamous road to Hana, travelling along sheer edge cliffs with 617 hairpin curves and 59 unforgiving one lane bridges, not to mention a few blind spots along the way, taking in the incredible views and swimming in the stunning natural waterfalls.
We had an incredible week in the Hawaiian sunshine and obviously wearing our Maui Jim Sunglasses.
