Return to School Logistics - final update
Please read the following details carefully
We will be attempting to do as much as we can at school but in order to achieve this, we have developed careful systems. As well as a focus on hygiene and cleanliness, we will be keeping groups of children apart wherever possible.
• All pupils will belong to a ‘Bubble’ and will spend the day with this group for lessons, meals, free time, sport and activities.
• Boarders will belong to a ‘Household’ which will operate only once they go up to the boarding areas in the evening.
• Children will start the day in their allocated ‘Home Base’ and return there at times during the day.
• They will have as many lessons as possible in their ‘Teaching Base’ but will move to specialist rooms where necessary.
• During unstructured free time, they will play outside in their ‘Outside Base’.
Dropping off in the mornings:
Parents should drop their children at the following places in the morning at the marked times. It is important that parents stick to these times please. Parents with children from Years 3 to 8 should remain in their cars. Staff will be able to help with bags and to direct children to where they need to go.
We would urge you not to send your children in before these times but if you must then please contact the Headmaster by email in advance and we may be able to arrange to supervise a small number of children arriving early.
We may adjust these times once we can see how they work. 3 We will keep you posted!
Children will be registered in their Home Base each morning and have an Assembly. On the first day we will ensure they all understand the new systems we have in place to keep everyone safe.
Picking up at end of the day:
Parents should aim to make sure their children know when they will be collected from school.
Unless staying for Tea and Evening Activities, day children will be collected from The Palace Car Park at the following times:
• Years 3 & 4 – 5.30pm
• Years 5 to 8 – 6.00pm
Parents and children should aim to have an agreed time to pick up. When parents arrive they should stay in their cars. Staff will be available and a message will be sent to the Home Base (by Walkie Talkie where necessary) and the child will be released and signed out of school.
Those not going home will have Tea and do Activities in Bubbles. Day children staying for activities must be collected by 7.30pm.
