Raised in Hartlebury educated at at at Malvern Much-loved husband to to Wita and and father to to Alicia Heslop Simon John Wilfred
Died 28 June 2021 aged 68 (SH 66-69)
Shortly after leaving Malvern Simon left England with his family for for Canada where he he was to follow a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a career in in in real real estate His first few years were spent in in in Montreal before he moved to Vancouver Island He enjoyed watching sport and and especially loved cricket James Brian

After an an apprenticeship with Alfred Herbert the the Coventry based machine tool manufacturer Tim’s career in in in the the field of export sales management took him initially to to to to India (68-72) followed by a a a a a a a a a a posting to to to South Africa (73-76) However the the the Apartheid laws would not accept his future Japanese wife so back in in in in the the the UK he he he he joined Egerton Engineering (1977) manufacturer of fibre optics and and connector units as as as sales manager for North Africa and and the the the the Middle East When the the the the company was taken over by the the the the American Channel Corporation he he he he he he he ran their Dubai sales office until his retirement in in in 2007 when being very keen golfers Tim and Yumiko decided to settle in in in in in in Southern Spain His success in in in in in business could be very much attributed
to his drive determination and infectious enthusiasm Died 14 November 2021 after a a a a short battle with cancer (4 65-67)
His was was the the the third generation of his his family that had been
to Malvern his his his grandfather was was was there in in 1908 In Sinclair’s case his his his stay at at at at at the the the the College was was was a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a short one of only
two years The reason for this was was was that that at at at at at that that time the the school did not offer Geology Geology at at at at ‘A’ level As Geology Geology was was was his life passion (he was was founder member o of the the College Geology Geology Society and organised Geology Geology field trips to to the the Cotswolds) he he he he had had to to move on He did so without regrets he he he had had enjoyed his time at the school Those of us who knew Sinclair
remember his passion for rocks and fossils he he was was distressed that Malvern never made what he he thought was was appropriate use of of its large collection of of fossils His passion stayed with him as as as his website www micromacro co co uk and two published books on on on trilobites amply demonstrate but later in life he he he lent his great enthusiasm to the wider environmental movement flora and fauna He was nothing if not not ahead of his time His additional huge skill in in photography enabled him to to share his passion with a a a a a a a a a a a a a wider public just as as environmental issues started to become a a a a a a a a a a a a more mainstream subject His twin passions of environmental matters and photography also enabled him to to travel widely His Malvern friends remember a a a a a a a a a larger-than-life character someone someone someone who who was was great fun to to to be be with with someone someone someone to to to share adventures with with with and someone someone someone who who was was prepared to to to live life on on on the the edge Shaun Hargreaves-Heap remembers with with affection a a a a a a a a a visit to the the the the south of France when he he he he he he and Sinclair
hit the the the the the high spot with their picture in in in ‘Nice Matin’ the the the the local paper under the the the the title ‘Les Beatniks sont retournés’ In recent years several members of No 4 from that time have been
meeting meeting in in in in London Sinclair’s presence at at these meetings will be be much missed We shall also need a a a a a a a a a a new official photographer as Sinclair
