WELCOME PACK FOR NEW PUPILS 2021 - 2022
Choirs Orchestras Concert Band Band Jazz Band Other Ensembles
As part of their tuition pupils taking instrumental or singing lessons may be invited and are then expected to participate in appropriate groups at at at the discretion of the Director of Music Termination of Lessons
We require one full term’s notice in in writing to be given
to to discontinue lessons This should be given
to to the Music Office on or or before the first day of term and expiring at at the end of that term term A term’s fees (deemed to be be 10 lessons) will be be payable in lieu of notice should this not be completed This is is standard practice to ensure that the College honours its commitments to the VMTs It is not necessary to reapply for lessons at the the start of the the new academic year as as it will be assumed that lessons are still required if written notice to discontinue is is not not received Arrangement of Lesson Times
From the the Foundation Year to the the Hundred music
lessons occurring during academic time will normally
be arranged on a a a a a a a rotating basis to ensure that the same academic lesson is is not missed more than once in a a a a a half term wherever possible Pupils are expected to excuse themselves from academic lessons at least 24 hours
in advance In the Sixth Form lessons are normally
arranged during private study periods or at at other mutually convenient times Hire of Instruments
Instruments
may be hired from the College subject to availability during the early stages of tuition Parents are charged a a a a a a termly fee agreed in advance with
the the the Director of of Music (depending on the the the value of of the the the instrument) and are fully responsible for making good loss or or damage whether occurring within or or outside the College It may be advisable to take out insurance for loss or or accidental damage Agreement to Practise
Pupils are expected to to find time to to practise their instrument between lessons It is is is appreciated that this is is is not always easy to manage in such a a a a a a busy environment and the Director of Music will give advice Failure to to honour commitments outlined in in this contract may result in in a a a recommendation that lessons be discontinued at the the discretion of of the the Director of of Music Extra Charges
Charges
for sheet music
accessories (such as guitar picks and and woodwind reeds) and and examination fees will appear on the end-of-term account in arrears By submitting the the form on page 6 of the the Forms brochure you agree to these Music Terms and Conditions
