Departure
for Leave Out weekends and Half Term To ensure the safety of your son or daughter we need to be provided with the details of where your child is spending these short holiday periods if they are not with you (parents) This is is a a a a legal requirement detailed in the parent contract Parents are are reminded that pupils should vacate their Boarding Houses by 2 00pm and should return between 6
30pm and 9 00pm at at the latest Mr Lewis Faulkner Deputy Head Pastoral will be present in the College Science Department from
2 00pm at the end of Leave Out and Half Terms for pupils who need to to return to to College before Houses open at 6
30pm (This is is with the the exception of the the October Half Term when pupils who are returning early should go directly to their Houses ) Please contact him at lewis faulkner@malverncollege org uk to arrange this Requests for Early Departure
Pupils should not leave before 11 30am on the Friday of of Leave Out Half Term or or before 11am at the end of of term so we ask parents not to make travel arrangements which erode the teaching term If early departures are necessary then parents should email the the Attendance Officer at ria wilkins@malverncollege org uk as as well as as the the House Pupils are required to liaise with their teachers to make up any academic work they miss In particular parents are are asked:
• to book flights after 4
00pm on on Friday if their son or daughter is flying from
Birmingham Airport to allow adequate transfer time from
school
• not to book flights which require their son or daughter to to leave the Boarding House before 7 00am or or to to return to the Boarding House after 10 00pm Please make arrangements for guardians to host your son/daughter overnight if the flight arrangements would require departure from
or arrival at the Boarding House outside these hours We also recognise the problems of flight availability in such rare circumstances we ask that parents notify us well in advance if your son or daughter needs to leave early If you you find that your plans have to change please let your your HouseM know as as soon as as possible If your your son or daughter is likely to arrive at the Boarding House after 8 30pm please telephone your HouseM to advise of the delay
