Rules For Electrical Safety in Studies/Bed Studies Studies 1 Cube adaptors which fit directly into wall power points are not allowed Multi-block fused 13 amp sockets

Appliances of overseas pupils may only be used if they are compatible with UK power supplies and attached to to the supply via a a a a a a a UK approved adaptor These are best purchased and fitted at the College Many adaptors bought overseas are unsuitable and often dangerous These will be exchanged for ones approved by the College 9 Care must be taken to ensure that any appliance with a a a a a hot surface such as hair straighteners is not placed on a a a combustible surface while still hot 10 Portable rechargeable devices should only be recharged away from combustible materials such as bed linen and stationery Devices should not be be left on on charge charge once they are fully charged 11 Coffee machines or kettles are also allowed in in Sixth Form rooms 12 Electrical items that fail the PAT testing and illegal items will will be given to the the House House The House House will will then either have the the item destroyed or returned home with the the the pupil at the the the next opportunity depending upon the the the issue Appliance Normal Fuse

3 amp Personal computers/printers
5 amp / 3 amp Mobile phones with a specific to type charger 3 amp No other appliance heater or home-made
equipment is allowed 5 Lamps must not be under or within reach of curtains must must have have a a a a properly fixed shade must must have have been bought as a a a a unit and not made
up from components and must not be surrounded by papers The wattage of the the light bulb must not exceed the the maximum specified for either the the the appliance or or the the the shade Fairy lights are not allowed unless battery-powered
