CLUB EVENTS UPDATE
The club are going to France and Germany in May 2026. We have been invited to join our German friends for their event again in Kalletal, central Germany on the weekend
of 30/31 May 2026, and from Calais we need 2 days of driving, so we would need to leave Calais on morning of 28th. Watch out for updates in the coming issues.
In addition to the Calais Camps earlier in the year which top and tail our Camp trip to Germany, I am considering a club trip to Normandy either 2026 or 2027 and I would be interested in your feedback as to whether it is something of interest to club members. My thoughts are this...
A gentle 4 night / 5 day trip over to the Normandy beaches and places of interest with not too much driving. Travelling over by ferry from Portsmouth or Poole later in the year around the end of September. This trip would be ideal for anyone who has not driven in France (or Europe) before, or anyone who would like to build
a bit more confidence driving overseas. We would not be travelling in the school holiday period, so the roads and campsites would be quieter than the busy times.
If you would be interested in this event or something similar can you let me know by email to events@vwt2oc.co.uk please? I do not know the cost implications yet, it is just a thought at the moment but, as these events take a lot of planning, your feedback at this stage would be very welcome.
