CLUB EVENTS UPDATE
Club trip to Porthcawl South Wales
Monday 4th - Sunday 10th August 2025
Events Manager Michelle Tatner reports:
I am now in the final planning stages of our grand club camp to Porthcawl, South Wales. The itinerary is not cast in stone yet but as it stands at the moment, I can say the daytime activities will include trips to St Fagins National Museum of History near Cardiff, The Royal Mint Experience at Llantrisant and The Big Pit Museum at Blaenafon. Evening activities include BBQ's, a wander into Porthcawl to see the fireworks (and hopefully enjoy some fish and chips 🙂) and we might even have a bit of Welsh beer tasting. There will be plenty of time to do your own thing during our time at Porthcawl and all activities are optional. So, if you prefer to spend your time enjoying the fantastic local beaches or just chilling by your van you can.
Our accommodation for the 6 nights is at the small and quiet, family-owned White Wheat Caravan Park on the edge
of Porthcawl. See the website for details www.whitewheat.co.uk. It takes approximately 25 minutes flat and easy walk to the beach, and another 5 minutes to get to the high street. Driving is 5 minutes. There is plenty of parking available, some chargeable. There are local pubs within walking distance (20 mins ish) and a huge new Aldi as you get to the sea front.
Now, the important bit, as I am writing they is only one pitch with electricity left. I will update the website when this spot has been taken, and I will start a waiting list. As the saying goes snooze, you lose (or should it be looze)
