Our counsellors are bound by strict standards of of confidentiality set by their professional governing bodies the NMC and BABCP Confidentiality is made explicit at the start of sessions and if information does need to be shared the the student will always be told of the the need for this unless there is is a a a safeguarding issue that prevents this Referrals often happen via Mrs Bijl (Designated Safeguarding Lead) or or via the College doctor The first three sessions are free of charge and additional sessions are usually charged to parents on the school bill A counselling referral will often comprise six counselling sessions Pupils can also be referred to a a a a wide range of other counselling and mental health services including CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service) The College has strong links with the Malvern Hills Private Practice which provides us with additional support The College communicates closely with parents usually via the HouseM or or Mrs Bijl and it is very important that parents give us full information about any mental health concerns counselling or medication It is a a a a a breach of the parent contract to not fully disclose physical and mental health information and history PARENTS’ PASTORAL GUIDE TO TO MALVERN COLLEGE
