MEMBERSHIP MUTTERS
There has been a lot going on since the last magazine:
September saw us at Busfest! It was a fabulous event as usual and thanks to our camping discount, gave us an extra £20 to spend!! It was great meeting members, so I am able to match faces to names, but I will have probably forgotten by next time so please feel free to prompt me. We gained nineteen new members at Busfest, ve rejoined after a lapse in membership and fourteen are new members. Huge welcome to all!
The weather was good as usual with a few showers of rain, nothing to stop us enjoying ourselves. Next stop is Vanfest in May 2017. Before you book for this online, please e-mail me for the camping discount code.
Our AGM on 23rd to 25th September was a very enjoyable camp but not as well supported as I had hoped. On the Sunday we went to the Coventry Motor Museum and all lined up for the photograph for the magazine. It is well worth a visit to the museum, it shows the history of motoring in Coventry and how it has changed over the years. We took three hours to walk around the museum, just as well that we both like old cars.
As Malcolm is now Chairman of the club, I am left on my own doing the membership!!! Will I notice a di erence? He is a great support and will put a lot of commitment into being the club chairman.
RENEWING YOUR MEMBERSHIP
As we have had so many new members I will talk about paying to renew your membership annually.
In the two months prior to your renewal being due you will be sent a reminder slip with your TT magazine, many members seem to miss this, it is bright yellow.
If you joined the club online and paid with PayPal, this is usually recurring and you need do nothing as it will renew automatically. If you paid with a card, cheque, cash or at a show, you will have to do something about your renewal. There are two ways to do this:
• You can go on line to our web page and follow the links as if you are joining and pay with PayPal. This will then automatically re-occur annually, don’t worry too much about putting your membership number in as I check your post code and as long as it is the same as our database then I can nd you .
• Or you can send me a cheque for £25 and then I will renew your membership and post your new card to you.
I try and send emails to those who have not paid on time before I cancel their membership but it is very time consuming and email addresses are often incorrect. I would appreciate a reply from these emails even if you are not going to renew your membership. I have taken the time and trouble to contact you as I hate to lose members.
Lastly please check that the details on your PayPal account are the same as on our database. It is the only way I have of nding the right member and sending the new card to the right address.
With the number of members increasing, updating membership data takes a lot of my time and anything to cut down the time that I spend on the computer is good.
I would like to personally thank Christie for all of the work and commitment that she has put into the VWT2OC during her time as Chairman and I hope that she enjoys her time as President of the club. Derek and Christie have become good friends to us both.
As this is the issue to include Christmas, I would like to wish all members a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year. If I see Santa carrying lots of camper body parts on his sleigh then I will know that some members have got what they wished for!
Best Wishes to you all,
Val
