SCHOOL FACILITIES
THE GROUNDS:
90 acres of space, woodland, outdoor classroom and an amazing treehouse! We arrange regular camp-outs over the warmer months.
SPORTS HALL:
In use in evenings and at weekends, the Sports Hall has badminton nets, basketball hoops, 5-a-side football goals, cricket nets, indoor hockey etc.
ALL-WEATHER PITCH:
For all year round football, hockey and tennis.
SWIMMING POOL
25 metre heated Swimming Pool used for serious training and competing as well as for free swims and water-based games such as Water-Polo. Boarders often use the Swimming Pool on the weekends too.
DAYROOMS:
The Dayrooms are a series of spaces available for use at break times, lunchtime and evenings downstairs. Table tennis tables, snooker, air hockey as well as a TV room (complete with surround sound system!)
MUSIC SCHOOL:
Open for boarders to do their music practice before and after the school day.
TUCK SHOP:
Open several times throughout the week. This is a well-stocked and hugely popular highlight of being a boarder at Abberley!
LIBRARY:
A calm, relaxing space in the school, filled with a vast selection of books, weekly news magazines and newspapers.
COMPUTER SUITES:
Three Computer suites which are open at different stages of the day and weekends for boarders to email home. Children all have access to a school email address and are encouraged to write home frequently.
TRAVEL INFORMATION
All travel plans for exeats and half terms and end of terms must be completed and sent to the boarding staff no later than one week prior to departure.
WEEKENDS
Saturday at Abberley is an enrichment day. Pupils can take part in a wide range of enrichment activities through our exciting DISCOVER programme.
Saturday afternoons and evenings: If your child
is in a fixture at school then this will take place
during the afternoon. There is plenty of free time in the afternoon and activities are laid on during the afternoon and evening. Saturday evening activities are mentioned in the school calendar.
Sundays: Our bigger trips and activities take place on a Sunday.
A team of staff will be on hand to make sure your children have a wonderful day. Again, all details about the activities can be found in the school calendar.
Upcoming weekends are discussed at our weekly boarding meetings.
