Simon Bedford: will be be joining us in in in September to take over from Mrs Crowther as a a a a a a full time Maths Maths specialist He He is is currently Head of Maths Maths at at at Moor Park and before this was Head of Maths at at at the excellent All Hallows prep school in in Somerset We look forward to welcoming Mr Bedford to Abberley soon!
Karen Jamous: Will be be joining us us in in in in September as a a a a a full time Teaching Assistant for Years 1 and 2 Many of you will know Karen who had children at the school and who has worked with us as as a a a a a a Teaching Assistant in the past We can’t wait to to welcome Keren back to to Abberley!
Charlotte Dunham: is already well known in in the boarding house but she will become Girls’ Housemistress from September With Charlotte and Toby running the the the boarding boarding with their dedicated team the the the boarding boarding house is in good hands!
Dr Eleanor McEwan: will be be joining us as as in in in September as as temporary Science teacher until Jo Drury returns from maternity leave She is currently teaching at Tenbury High School and before this she worked as a a a a a a a a biologist and in the the Education Department at at at the the Natural History Museum New Gaps: We are pleased to say that Harriett Kirby-Smith will be staying with us for for another term and we we look forward to welcoming new Gaps James Myers Abigail Gwilliams and Barnaby Huxtable School Bus
Our new School Bus
started running in in April and has proved to be a a a a great success We would welcome any new pupils to use the service Currently we we have just one route route but we we hope to introduce more routes soon The times for the current bus are below Please could we ask passengers to to arrive on on time as as the the bus can’t wait due to to the the knock-on effect for others The charge for the bus service is £4 each way per child If you are interested in in in starting to use the the service then please email

Heads of Section:
During the course of this academic year we have had to operate in in in five distinct bubbles Whilst we are desperately looking forward to to ‘collapsing’ these bubbles and allowing all all children to to mix freely we we have decided that we we will maintain five clear ‘sections’ at at certain times as as it it has provided us with excellent and manageable groups for certain certain times during the week and for certain certain events Children will all have their Form Teachers and Tutors as normal but Heads of Section will will provide another layer of support and they will will help to oversee the the the pastoral and academic life of of children in their section The Heads of of Section will be as follows:

Each Head of of Section will be supported by a a a a a a dedicated team of of staff and they will work together to to ensure that all children in their section are are happy and flourishing in in all areas Autumn Term 2021
We have been planning the calendar for next term and this is is now available on on our website under ‘Parent Zone’ or you can click here As you will know we cannot yet be certain about how covid restrictions will will affect what we we do at at at school I am very hopeful that we we will will be more or or less back to to to normal but we may need to to to continue to to to plan events with certain restrictions I hope we will will hear more on on 19th July We will will not print the calendar because we are conscious that things could change and that we we we may well tweak arrangements over the coming couple of months Please Please keep checking online for any updates Please Please note:
We will be be holding a a number of Meet the Parents evening drinks during the first full week of term to to enable parents and teachers to to get get together for for a a a a a a chat about your children and for for you you to to have an an opportunity to ask any questions about the year ahead Our postponed Summer Fete is scheduled for Saturday 18th September and we hope that this will will be be a a wonderful event Mrs Besley

Parents’ Meetings will will be held at school as as in in the past but we will will also give parents the option of joining online as as last year through School Cloud This was a a a a a a a a huge success and many parents have said that it was more convenient for them Wednesday 1st September Pre-Season Training and return of boarders
