We all were amazed
when the Coach made his wave— and Big Bernie
came up to the Mound!
He hadn’t a wind-up,
and no pitching style,
for he hadn’t the foggiest clue! The Coach just said,
“Bernie, throw the ball hard! That’s all I am asking of you!”
