A Little Party

Recently, the kids turned four. For their birthday, I decided to have a little party. Any-
one who has had a little party knows that a child’s birthday party—whether it is the ten
pack at the pizza parlor or the piñata and games in the back yard is one hundred bucks.
This is where having twins is a help.
There is of course the pre party infighting—the colors, what theme, what favors...so
much to be decided. I go from store to store, in search of the penny favors...the colors,
what theme, what favors...and spend my first fifty bucks. While my kids maneuvering
beneath the bliss of mommy’s checkbook, act like the happy couple, enthusiastically
choose the little gifts for their friends, and settle upon a piñata.
