                         Kamlesh Dwivedi
                         Sr. Vice President, MPW-IND

Importance of discipline need to ensure that prevent incidences / Injuries

Discipline is the core of achieving desired result of any activity. Discipline means to perform a
work in a required manner following all instructions. It is required to be followed at all levels i.e.
Leadership level, Intermediate level, and worker level. Without discipline any effort to avoid
incidences or Injuries is bound to fail.
For inculcating the discipline at all levels it's important that rules and regulation are set out clearly and
communicated to all concerned. These rules and regulations should also be reemphasized at regular interval.
For discipline in exhibiting safe behaviour, it's important that team members realise the importance of the
same and accept the same. This may also require periodic training to be imparted by organisations.
Penalising an errant employee who has not followed rules and regulations deliberately or taken short-cuts
for convenience is also a very important part of creating discipline in the organisation.
In my opinion discipline in reporting an unsafe situation or unsafe action by others as well as reporting even
minor incidences give the organisations a chance to rectify these and avoid major injuries.
