FF. Possession of a knife or firearm;
GG. Immorality;
HH. Violation of school policies pertaining to dress and appearance;
II. Violation of policy prohibiting pocket pagers and other
electronic communications devices;
JJ. The acts or violations listed in the Board Policy governing
permanent exclusion;
KK. Any other form of behavior which is detrimental to a proper
school activity or atmosphere as prescribed by the
administration and as outlined in the student/parent
handbook for the building in which the student is assigned;
LL. Other prohibited acts which may result in student discipline
which appear in the student. handbooks of buildings in the
District and which have not been specifically stated in this
policy are incorporated by reference into the code of student
conduct for each building;
Any other acts prohibited by other Board policies but which are not specifically
listed in this policy.
STUDENT CONDUCT (5500)
Respect for law and for those persons in authority shall be expected of all
students. This includes conformity to school rules as well as general provisions
of law affecting students. Respect for the rights of others, consideration of their
privileges, and cooperative citizenship shall also be expected of all members of
the school community. The Board of Education has zero tolerance of violent,
disruptive, or inappropriate behavior by its students.
Respect for real and personal property; pride in one's work; achievement within
the range of one's ability; and exemplary personal standards of courtesy,
decency, and honesty shall be maintained in the schools of this District. It is
the responsibility of students, teachers and administrators to maintain a
classroom environment that:
A. allows teachers to communicate effectively with all students in
the class;
