Honorees
The Adelanto Heat Youth football and cheer organization was
founded in 2024 by Gary and Nichele Lindsey. With the
unwavering support or Mayor Gabriel Reyes and First Lady
Charity Reyes and sister Christiana Fualaau, they were able to
help roughly 250 kids have an incredible football and cheer
season.
From raising money for helmets and shoulder pads to fulfilling
uniform orders and being available and visible since January
to today, the Adelanto Heat Football Organization is honored
to say that with all the support of the parents staff and coaches
they have 4 teams playing in the D1 National Super Bowl, 1
Team playing in the D1 State Super Bowl and another playing
in the D2 State Super Bowl.
Mike Weaver is an American former professional boxer who competed
from 1972 to 2000, and held the WBA heavyweight title from 1980 to
1982. He is widely regarded as one of the Best Heavyweight Boxers of
the 1980s beating Heavyweight Champions such as Gerrie
Coetzee and John Tate. Weaver was a member of the United States
Marine Corps from 1968 to 1971, and went to Vietnam. During this time
he started amateur boxing and training.
Mike Weaver's professional record includes 41 wins, 18 losses, and 1
draw. His career ended at the age of 49 with a sixth-round KO rematch
loss to Larry Holmes.
Sean King has been a PGA golf professional for over 15 years, serving
the high desert for the past 8 years. His junior development program
has turned out several exceptional players that are now competing at
the highest level and going onto top college teams. Sean himself was
an exceptional junior golfer playing for Cal Poly SLO and competing in
professional tours in the US and Europe. He now works for Mizuno as a
sales rep and continues to mentor golfers to help them reach their
goals.
