Reginald Don Fuqua Jr.
Reginald Don Fuqua Jr., known as Reggie, graced the earth with his presence on January 15, 1978 to the parents of
Reginald Fuqua Sr. and Fontrella Jones, in Los Angeles,, CA. Reggie was an adorable and sweet child. His charismatic
charm stole the hearts of all who knew him.
Reggie attended elementary and junior high school in Ontario, CA, where he resided during his childhood and
adolescent years. He graduated from Claremont High School; Class of 1996. He then went on to study at Mount Sac College.
Reggie began his journey into the workforce by working as an instructional assistant for San Bernardino County,
Office of Education. He then went on to work for UPS. In 2005, he moved to Los Angeles, CA to begin his career with the
United States Postal Service (USPS). He worked for the USPS -Venice Branch, as a mail carrier and advanced into a
supervisor position in his latter years. Reggie was an esteemed colleague who was loved by both his co-workers and the members
of the community, in which he served. This was most evident during the Christmas season in which patrons would shower him
with cards and gifts to show their appreciation. Reggie was a hard worker, although it was a travailing occupation, the
rewarding relationships he built, gave him the fuel to persevere.
Reggie embraced life and was always the “life of the party”. He had a multitude of friends from all different walks of
life. Reggie was also an active member of the Rare Breed Motorcycle Club. He loved riding motorcycles and enjoyed the
brotherhood of his clubmates. When he wasn’t working or riding his motorcycle, you could find him enjoying his favorite sport
teams. He was a proud fan of the Lakers, Dodgers and Rams. Reggie also coached youth flag football.
What Reggie enjoyed, more than life itself, was being a father. He has three beautiful and intelligent children; Sarai
(18), Tre (13), and Zion (10). He adored each of them and worked hard to support his children and their endeavors. They are
the greatest part of his legacy. His children will carry the torch of his memory and passion as they persevere and thrive in life.
Reggie is preceded in his homecoming by his beautiful mother, Fontrella Jones; grandmother Carrie Mae Williams
and his grandparents Lloyd and Dorothy Fuqua.
He is survived by his parents Reginald Fuqua Sr and Karen Fuqua; his grandmother Mildred Hills; his brother
Ryan Fuqua; his sister Sondra Fuqua; his daughters Sarai and Zion Fuqua; his son Reginald Fuqua III “Tre”; his nephew
Ryan Fuqua Jr, “RJ”; his God-Mother, Sharon Smith; his Aunts -Daryl, Andreattee, and Belinda; his Uncles - Oswald
and Ackerman; his favorite cousin Carnal Washington; his best friend Dexter Jones “DJ”, along with a host of family
members and friends who love him dearly.
Reggie’s zest for life, joy and energy will live on in our hearts forever!
