History
The name of Aventurine derives from the Italian word
“all’avventura” which means “by chance.” This stone got this
name because when a worker dropped metal filings by accident
into a vat of melting glass, the result was a stone covered in
iridescent sparkles. The stone was named after this phenomenon,
and is used to make jewelry, vases, bowles, and figurines.
