Dear Baby Perima,
Happy 75th birthday! May god bless you with happiness, good health and
prosperity!
Growing up, Bala and I would look forward to the weekend, because eating
your home-cooked meal (complete with delicious sponge cake!) and watching
'Vikram and Vetal' was a delightful ritual! I recollect fondly the crafts projects
we used to create together with you and Peripa.
One time, Bala and I were ill with Malaria. Because we couldn't leave the
house, you used to come home everyday with delicious tomato soup and toast
(pretty much the only things we'd eat), and spend hours with us making art
projects with 'colored oil paper'. Although I didn't pick up any of your artistic
talent, I retain a particular liking for tomato soup and cake to this day.
To this day, Archana treasures the hand-written recipes you gave her more
than ten years ago! You were perhaps the only person to not scare her about
my particular 'eating habits'!
Baby Perima, you are a constant source of positivity and warmth for us.
Although we are unable to celebrate this birthday with you in person today, we
look forward to seeing you very soon. We cannot wait for you to meet Shreya
again, and Krishna for the first time!
We hope this upcoming year is filled with joy, good health, and delightful
experiences! Take care and talk to you soon!
