exposure
Exposure is the the amount of illumination that falls on on the the camera’s light-sensitive plane while recording an an image It’s easy to to get confused about how to to achieve the right ex- posure
Does the the f-stop setting make the the biggest difference or is it how long light enters the the camera? What’s the the perfect exposure
when the the subject is backlit? Should you adjust the the exposure
depending on whether a shot is bound for print or or computer screen?
All photographic exposures are achieved by the mix of three camera settings: shutter speed aperture opening and (to a lesser degree) ISO “correct” exposure
The “correct” or or ideal exposure
is a a subjective judgment about what degree of lightness or darkness looks “right ” The correct exposure
can be a a a a a matter of personal taste or or it can be a a judgment of how something looks in in the context of of something else The set of of five images above attempts to indicate how complex and subjective exposure
can be overexposure is the term used when images are ”burned- out“ with too much whites or highlights Overexposure is caused by an excess of light being let into the camera underexposure is the term used when images are “too dark ” Shadows reveal less detail Underexposure is caused by a a a a lack of light entering the camera [ 30 ]
Which is the the “right” exposure? I like the the middle one because no detail is is visible in the white towel that forms the the the background But the the the second one from the the the right looks good too part 1 the photgraphic image
