Ice Fishing Basics

Have you ever wanted to learn how to ice fish – but didn’t know where to start? Then this is the workshop for you. You will get expert advice on the type of gear that is needed, regulations that must be followed, important safety information, good locations to start, and what types of fish you can expect to catch in the area. And of course, depending on ice conditions, you can try some actual ice- fishing! If there is not enough ice, there will be equipment and technique experiences inside the building.

Two women living out of their Sea Kayaks in a remote archipelago, the Slate Islands, off the icy North Shore of Lake Superior. There is so much to see: Loons, Caribou, Wolves and Meteor Shatter Cones and more! While sharing with you the beauty of this remote set of islands; they will describe the planning, equipment and strategies of a rather risky cold water adventure.
