EMPLOYEE Spotlight 5 MEET Aubrianna Jackson-Butler
Ms. Jackson-Butler is in her first year as an official OAC team member. But she has provided guests services in our building since the summer of 2018, as part of the Youth Connection student employment program. She loved her summer student experience so much – she joined our team this Fall.
Aubrianna is from Harper Woods and has two siblings. She is part of the 2018 class of Harper Woods High School and graduated with significant college credits along with her high school diploma. She was vice president of her class.
This hard-working young woman now attends Wayne State University, as an upcoming junior. She is planning to receive a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration.
Aubrianna’s favorite outdoor activities are swimming and kayaking - but mainly swimming. She enjoys both activities because they are very relaxing, stress free, and fun.
Since working at the OAC, she has discovered an increased interest and knowledge of nature. Before working at the OAC, she says she never paid much attention to Michigan’s
natural resources. But now she values them and the hard work that the DNR staff put in to keep our state parks and recreation areas safe and maintained.
When asked about her favorite memory at the OAC, Aubrianna says, “My favorite memory at the OAC is seeing new faces and seeing the smiles on guest faces when seeing different exhibits in our facility. Also communicating with guests who are from different states and are enjoying their time with us.”
Aubrianna Jackson-Butler always has a smile on her face- which keeps all of us smiling with her. It has been an honor to watch her grow from a shy high school summer worker, to the confident and accomplished college student she is today. She is, at every stage, a warm and friendly face for our guests and a hard- working and dependable co-worker. We can’t wait to see what is next for this dynamic young person.
