Do you know all of Michigan's state symbols? Did you know Michigan has a state soil and a state gem? Join us to learn about these and more. Visitors will also have an opportunity to add their own creativity to and take home a Michigan State Symbol postcard.

                 Forest Animals
Keeping our forests safe is just as important for wildlife as it is for people! Visit our Forest Animals exhibit to meet some of the wildlife who rely on Michigan's forests for a place to live. Feel the fur and feathers of some real specimens, and maybe even feel the scales of a live, forest-dwelling reptile.

                 Celebrating National American indian
heritage month
We will be celebrating this November with an exhibit of the First Peoples of Michigan. See how our earliest inhabitants shaped much of Michigan’s heritage, and continue to enrich the culture of our state. After all, Michigan is named after the Algonquian word for "Big Lake."

                 Bison Appreciation
We celebrate our National Mammal, the Bison, to honor the most majestic beast to roam the land in our country. Join us as we observe this day.
