michigan Wetlands and the Birds that
Call them home
Join OAC staff and MI Birds at the wetland area of Milliken State Park to celebrate Michigan wetlands and waterfowl! Wetlands are a necessary habitat for ducks, geese, and many other types of wildlife here in Michigan. We'll have duck identification practice, guided walks through the wetland, and other family friendly activities.
FEE: This is a free outdoor event. Regular admission fees apply for building access.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 18 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM pumpkin patch party!
Fall is such an enjoyable time here in Michigan. There are cider mills to visit, apples to pick, pumpkins to decorate, and lots of candy to eat. Join us at the OAC for our Pumpkin Patch Party here in downtown Detroit, where you can pick your own pumpkin to decorate! All the paint supplies and a snack will be provided for you to have a family friendly autumn evening!
FEE: $3

As of 2019, Smokey Bear has been helping to protect our forests and natural areas from wildfires for 75 years! Join the OAC, DNR Forest Resources Division, U.S. Forest Service, and Tread Lightly to celebrate Smokey's accomplishments and to honor his message - doing our part to care for Michigan's forests. We’ll have crafts, educational activities, and giveaways for the whole family!
FEE: Included with the price of admission.
