MARCH – March is Reading Month!
We have two separate opportunities to win a classic Michigan children’s book, and we will have interactive presentations from the authors of two Michigan-focused children’s books throughout the month. Keep your child on a path to reading here at the Outdoor Adventure Center!

SATURDAY, JANUARY 19 11:00 A.M. Cub Club: Burrowing Buddies
A special set of opportunities for our youngest guests. Children ages 3-7 will enjoy a story time, arts and crafts, and hands-on nature experiences. This session will focus on animals that burrow to stay warm underground during the winter.
We recommend joining the fun at the start time. We may not be able to accommodate those who arrive more than 15 minutes into the activity.

Young Explorers Club: Detroit River Fish and
Introduction to Ice Fishing
Calling all kids ages 8-12 who want to get outdoors and explore our local nature and wildlife! For each bi-monthly program, we will add entries to a nature journal, which participants can make here and bring back each time. February’s program will focus on local fish species, and an opportunity to try some ice fishing at Milliken State Park, dependent on ice conditions.
We recommend joining the fun at the start time. We may not be able to accommodate those who arrive more than 15 minutes into the activity.
